THEME: “Evidence-Based Innovative Strategies to Improve Access and Transform Women’s Healthcare in Zimbabwe.”

Call for Abstracts

The Zimbabwe Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (ZSOG) will hold the Annual Scientific Conference at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, from the 24th to the 26th of October 2024. 


We invite abstract submissions to be considered for oral and poster presentations in the following subspecialty areas in line with the above theme:


              1.    General and Benign Gynaecology

              2.    Fetomaternal Medicine

              3.    Endocrinology and Reproductive Medicine

              4.    Gynaecological Endoscopy

              5.    Urogynaecology
6.    Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, Adolescent and Child Health
7.    Gynaecological Oncology


Follow the instructions below for preparation and submission of abstracts.
All abstracts, regardless of study type, to follow the following format:

  • Title     (Concise, Descriptive, Explicit, to include the population, intervention and control if any, the outcomes, study setting and type of paper/study) 
  • Subspeciality area.
  •  Author(s): First name, initial(s), Surname. State the name of the corresponding author (and presenting author) if different from the corresponding author. 
  • Author affiliation(s) 
  • Corresponding author details 
  • Background/Introduction/Rationale 
  • Objectives
  • Results
  • Discussion and Conclusions

Word count should be between 350 and 500 words. Authors are allowed to present 1 table and 1 figure in the submission. Please note that, these do not contribute to the word count.

                1. References: Up to 5 key references using Vancouver-type referencing.

                2. Font type, size, and spacing: Arial or Times New Roman 11, single spacing, 3                         cm margins.

Abstracts which do not contain these essential elements or do not conform to the stated guidelines will be automatically rejected

 

Abstracts must be submitted on the portal by 31 August 2024. All authors will be notified of the outcomes by not later than 15 September 2024.

 

Prizes will be awarded for outstanding oral and poster presentations in different categories.
